This piece has a feeling of calm and stillness, seen in the peaceful sky and the reflections from the flooded fields. However the warm colour palette of alizarin crimson, dusky pinks, rusty ochres and soft greens create a warm glow of joyousness. The landscape is made from layers of thin and opaque paint, with beautiful patterns and surface textures that can be reminiscent of another place entirely.
I have hand painted the frame in grey with a touch of phthalo blue that sets off the painting beautifully as in the pictures.
UV varnished with a cold wax buffed finish
